I was wondering if anyone is available to come in any time next week to help make some copies in preparation for when we come back from break! This would be a HUGE help for our 4th grade team to get ahead and have less hustle when we get back. Let me know if you can and when (preferably after Monday)! Thank you for ALL YOU DO!
Thursday 12/21
Party at Lunch (12-1pm)
Please join us in our classroom for a lunch party pot-luck! If you haven’t already, please sign up on the google form below, letting me know if you are coming/bringing food for the party. It’ll be a fun time for us to celebrate our end of 2017 and all the hard work we’ve done so far! I also have something to give everyone at the party, so let me know if you and your student can’t make it that last day.

Read-a-Thon Kickoff/Dress as your favorite book character (12/21)
Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favorite story book character as we kickoff the start of our winter Read-a-Thon! Administration will come to every class to read aloud to the classes as well. The Read-A-Thon will begin on December 22nd. Please have your children record the minutes that they read over break. Our class set a goal to read 15 minutes a day. Our class goal is to read over 5,000 minutes. Even if your child did not hand in a pledge packet I encourage them to read over break and keep track of their reading minutes. The class that reads the most minutes wins a celebration. The students who read the most minutes will earn some pretty cool prizes.
Class Wish List
Some parents have asked what supplies we need as a class, so I figured I’d make a class supply wish list if you want to donate! Needs:
4th Grade Overnight Parent Volunteers
Parents who are interested in volunteering to chaperone the 4th grade overnight will need to be finger printed and approved by DPS. The process for finger printing has changed from the past and is expected to take quite a bit of time. If you are interested, please visit Barbara at the front desk to start the process as soon as possible. If you have been finger printed in the past, you will still need to speak with Barbara to update your finger prints. I am hoping to have 5-7 parents chaperones for the trip, so please contact me if you are interested and please begin the process as soon as possible. March 15th-16th are the trip dates!
What should you expect in Thursday folder homework each week?
Next Week in our Curriculum
We have some big projects that are due over the next week in Science and Reading. We spend a lot of time in class on these projects and they are not intended to be homework, but if students are not using their class time wisely they may have some extra homework over the next week.
